Update Overview
Version 2.2 introduces the Discord Command Center, a complete shift to Discord-based wagering, and expanded staff management tools. This update also refreshes the site aesthetic for the BuildNightmares season and resolves several core stability issues.
What's New
Discord & Command Center
- Global Chat: Access the dedicated page via the main navigation News category, or continue using the bottom-right widget.
- Notification Panel: Use /bncnotifications for a private Discord panel to toggle alerts for Challenges, Tournaments, Rankings, and Mute-All direct messages.
- Tournament Command Center: Staff can now create and launch tournaments directly from a Discord panel using the Create Tournament button.
- Automated Scheduling: Tournaments created via Discord automatically announce and open for registration exactly 30 minutes before the start time.
- Help Commands: Run /bnchelp to view a full list of available commands, wager flows, staff tools, and relevant site links.
Economy & Wagers
- Wager System: Execute /bncwager to initiate wagers against linked players, who will receive Discord prompts to Accept or Decline.
- Balance Tracking: Use /bncbalance to view your current credit total, lifetime earnings, and lifetime spending.
- Score Reporting: Submit match results through Discord; undisputed outcomes trigger automatic payouts after 30 minutes.
- Wager Exclusivity: All wagering is now handled strictly in Discord; the website Token page has been removed.
- Dispute Management: Disputed wagers are now surfaced in the admin panel under Economy to Token Wagers.
- Escrow Security: Payouts, refunds, and escrow operations are now processed server-side to prevent client-side credit manipulation.
- Atomic Settlements: Fixed a credit-duplication issue during refunds and match settlements by ensuring balances update atomically.
Staff & Community Tools
- Duplicate Profile Management: Admin tools now group profiles by name, marking the primary account while removing empty duplicates.
- Advanced Matching: The duplicate tool now identifies near matches based on leetspeak, spacing, and letter padding.
- Registration Review: New competitive registrations trigger a staff post containing Approve, Needs Proof, and Reject buttons.
- Blacklist Directory: Access the new Admin directory to view blacklisted players, reasons, and evidence.
- Discord Blacklist: Run /bncblacklist to ban players directly from Discord; the record updates the website and a forum post simultaneously.
- Bulk Blacklist Management: Use /bncblacklists to view current bans and lift them via one-tap buttons.
- Timed Bans: Blacklists now include a duration ranging from one day to permanent, with ready-to-lift flags in the directory.
- Admin Changelog: A new internal log records every system release in one location.
Website & Profiles
- Profile Names: Players can update their in-game name in Settings, though the BNCID remains permanent.
- Automated Nicknames: Name changes now trigger an update to your Discord nickname while preserving the [BNCID] suffix.
- Tournament Results: Results pages now feature an editorial index with a stats bar and full-width event spotlights.
- Direct URLS: Every event results page now has a dedicated, shareable, and search-friendly web address.
- Navigation: Tournament results, brackets, and live pages are now consolidated under a nested menu in the Competitive Hub.
- Leaderboard Exports: Exported leaderboard images now display the full podium and standings in a consistent 16:9 format.
- Visual Theme: The hub features the new BuildNightmares aesthetic with ember-orange, violet, and blood-red branding.
- Dynamic Branding: The homepage wordmark now includes a red glitch effect, and the site background features falling red skulls.
Bug Fixes

- Media Support: Sending images in direct messages is functional again.
- Roster Selection: The Point Counter player picker now loads the entire roster for selection.
- Tournament Signups: Fixed an issue where signups could open prematurely; they are now locked to the 30-minute window.

- Participant Seeding: Staff can now manually seed finals and invitationals so participants are visible before registration begins.
- Bracket Searching: Tournament player search now correctly returns all players regardless of PR.
- Profanity Filter: The filter is now applied to display names, bios, and player tags across all editor tools.
- Tournament Records: Records are displayed consistently with improved teammate listings and countdowns.
- Asset Cleanup: Removed grey artifacts from backgrounds and improved the hero glow transition.
- Performance Fix: Addressed a preferences context crash that previously caused page-wide load failures.
